{"id":542,"date":"2011-01-15T06:59:38","date_gmt":"2011-01-15T06:59:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kevindkinsey.com\/?p=542"},"modified":"2011-01-23T17:15:03","modified_gmt":"2011-01-23T17:15:03","slug":"542","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kevindkinsey.com\/?p=542","title":{"rendered":"Overbrook Entertainment Sets Up Chinese Crime Drama at Fox TV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Will Smith and James Lassiter&#8217;s Overbrook Entertainment has partnered  with Chinese filmmaker Eva Jin to develop a crime drama set in China  that&#8217;s set up at 20th Century Fox TV, reports Variety.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/sites\/default\/files\/resize\/will%20james-250x177.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"177\" \/>The  still untitled hour-long series will follow a crime-fighting female  college student studying abroad, and the network has already given the  project a script order.<\/p>\n<p>Smith has shown a recent interest in China after shooting &#8220;The  Karate Kid&#8221; reboot there with his son, Jaden, though it remains unclear  whether the project will be produced overseas.<\/p>\n<p>Jin is a cartoonist-turned-filmmaker who went to school in the U.S.  and directed Zhang Ziyi in the romantic comedy &#8220;Sophie&#8217;s Revenge.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Overbrook&#8217;s previous TV credits include the UPN\/CW sitcom &#8220;All of  Us.&#8221; The company is also developing an hour-long dramedy based on the  movie &#8220;Hitch,&#8221; which starred Smith, Kevin James and Eva Mendes.<\/p>\n<p>By Jeff Sneider<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Will Smith and James Lassiter&#8217;s Overbrook Entertainment has partnered with Chinese filmmaker Eva Jin to develop a crime drama set in China that&#8217;s set up at 20th Century Fox TV, reports Variety.
